We had the great opportunity to share our story and our vision for workation on the Reise vor9 podcast.
Julia-Sophie Ezinger spoke with host Christian Schmicke about the challenges of workation, our experiences as a startup, and how the concept could further develop in Germany. The discussion also touched on the innovation potential in the tourism industry and the legal pitfalls companies need to be aware of.
The podcast was recorded during Tourism Day Baden-Württemberg at the CMT travel fair – organized by Project M, with a focus on innovation in the industry.

rhome: Legally Compliant Workation for Companies
As experts in compliance for remote work, we know that mobile working is not just a matter of technology but also requires clear legal foundations. That’s why Julia-Sophie Ezinger and Daniel Ratke founded rhome in 2021 – a platform that supports companies and freelancers with tax, social security, and immigration law issues.
Our goal: to make workation possible without falling into legal gray areas. Companies receive a legally secure strategy, while employees can enjoy their flexibility.
From Idea to Success
Since our founding, a lot has happened. In 2022, we took second place at the Travel Startup Finale of the VIR (Association of Internet Travel Sales). Today, we help companies offer workation as a benefit – legally compliant and risk-free.
Conclusion: Flexible, But With Caution
Workation can be an attractive employee benefit – if companies know the rules and use solutions like rhome.
